Myth is upto 15k.

So why am I still only half way though?

Please, please, please let the ending be nearer than I thought...

How is the story going?
10 of cups, apparently. wtf? "family or friends?" what kind of answer was that?? hehe
I bet it is politely saying everyone's is better - well, that's cool too :)

Six of Cups.

You may be asking, dear reader (...i.e. me, six months hence, give or take a day) why the heck I am posting Tarot Cards.

Well let me tell you. I found a pack. That's it, no other reason LOL

So then curiosity drove me to find out how to use the blessed things and I found a site saying the simplest reading was to shuffle and pick a card, and that told your fortune for the day.

Simple, eh?

Except... I generally go to bed about 1am.

So, I've been drawing the cards before bed, because.. like... it's already the next day, y'know?

Now somebody please tell me that the six of cups means "realise you've been an idiot" because it suddenly dawns on me that of course time is arbitary, so the fact that it is now past midnight probably means diddly-squat to poor old six of cups.

Or does it? I mean... well... what time zone do the mystic powers of tarot operate in?

So the question, dear reader, is do the cards I've been drawing relate to the day I've just had (See weds, below), or the day I'm about to (today... in about 8 hours)... Have I just had a six of cups day, or a two of wands day? huh? huh?

;-)

TEN MINUTES LATER: I'll let you decide...

And so, from http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/learn/meanings/sixes.shtml

Six of Cups

Two children among six flowering cups. There is a great deal of rich and complex symbolism in this card, but in a nutshell, it is a frozen moment of perfect balance, the boy and the girl both touching that one cup with the flower in it. I like to think of this as taking place in early spring, still cold enough for the girl to wear mittens, but warm enough for the first flowers to have blossomed. The girl, possibly accepting the flower, looks up and sees the boy, and he, perhaps giving the flower, sees her as well. Perhaps, on that cup, their hands touch for the first time. It is a charming moment of recognition, of puppy love. The meaning of this card refers to a moment of nostalgia, of something or someone from our past coming back into our life. Given an old photo, or an invitation to a school reunion, we get, in return, a memory of harmony. Perhaps we meet with a friend, relative or teacher we haven't seen in years and the exchange of memories restores to us past love, past balance. We rediscover lost equilibrium and a solution that we could never have found in the present.

Two of Wands

Usually a person choosing one wand over another. Wands are passion, and passion is not something that works when split. It requires a single focus. This card indicates a choice to be made, but the instincts are right, and the choice made, where to put your energy and passion, will be a right one.

EDIT: TEN MINUTES LATER

OK so I asked the tarot - obvious, eh?
I asked "if I draw a card now, does it tell me my fortune for tomorrow?"
The card was the right way up. And it was a chariot. My interpretation of which, is the Tarot saying "Well... err.. it could be... but maybe not... you know what? whatever"
Well, thanks Tarot :-p

Two of Wands

I'm struggling with work.

Why can't we just do fun stuff all the time, huh?

Big update on the ER site though; the Rambler's Inn is now live - yay! :D

Queen of Wands.

Writing.
Well, I've just stalled at 1,300 on the Myth - mostly due to raging hunger.
Liz is in tears, but I'm going to have to leave her that way until I've eaten something hehe

I don't know if I've been productive or useless today.
I spent the morning catching up with things, then put on my head-girl badge to do a "roundup" email on the Myth anthology. Then I managed to slip in a teeny amount of work before going to play catch up on Luna and Carnage.

Looks like I'll be working for a little bit longer tonight, then! LOL

Writing today:
Myth Emails: about 1k LOL
Carnage: about 700 words

Might manage to squeeze some more on; not sure.

So... I'm rubbish at diaries... No, worse than that: I'm abysmal. So my advice would be - Do NOT watch this space: Change, if it comes at all, will come at random intervals.

So here it goes...

Writing
I am an AMATEUR
Please find as much entertainment as you wish from my babblings LOL

I find myself with three stories on the go. Well, more "in theory", but three that are actively loitering, rather than ducking into dark corners where I won't see them.

First is Poppy, which exists solely for me to see if I can finish a full length story. I'm trying *not* to put my heart and soul into making it into a masterpiece. Of course, right now chapter 3 is on it's 8th re-write, so that's not going too well. The first chapter was entered in the romancejunkies contest; it did okay, and I'm happy with that.

Second is Whicker, which is being written as part of a group anthology effort. At the minute, it's a race against time for us all to write our 1st drafts, due in on the 23rd. I dread to think what I'm going to think of it all when I re-read it, but hey ;-)

Third is... Well, let's call it Stacey. I started it in response to a short story challenge on Deep Magic, but it spiralled out of control and is now at about 9k and rising.

Currently on the backburner (is that the right phrase? I forget, when it gets late)...

Ongoing Fantasy thingummy - you know; the one I've done all the background on and really *want* to be fabulous, ergo never going to get written

Carnage rpg story - Love the characters in this; keep forgetting what my destination is LOL

Luna rpg story - Kind of lost the plot with this one; really, really wishing someone else would come along and play the evil guys as I'm finding it tricky at the mo

Futuristic cliche - You know; fast cars, spectacular technology and everyone's just too darned sexy for their own good.

And a whole load of other bits and pieces...

I have a finished short story, currently being lovingly cared for by Merris, together with a collection of other stories all based on a ONS. It's my first story that's been let loose, so I've turned a bit Bill Oddie and am watching its progress with interest.

Reading
I gave my historical cravings some succour, with...
Teresa Medeiros' After Midnight - Fabulous, wished the secondary characters had more airtime.
Teresa Medeiros' Yours Until Dawn - Good, but a familiar plot.
Sabrina Jeffries' One Night with a Prince - Great, if slightly unbelievable.
Christina Dodd's Rules of Engagement - Ditto above.
Madeline Hunter's The Saint - Good, though the romance didn't ring 100% true.

I'm a complete spreadsheet saddo, and use the scores from fictionwise, amazon, romantictimes and likesbooks.com to tell me what books should be top of my "wants" list. Lord of Fire was listed 3rd, and I thought it was pretty darned perfect. Julia Quinn's How to Marry a Marquis was 2nd, and I thought this was pretty darned wonderful too. But first on the list is Lisa Kleypas' Worth Any Price... which I haven't got yet. Reason? It's $7.50... hahaha

For the curious, from the title's I've "analysed" so far, the top ten in this genre are...
  1. Kleypas, Lisa Worth Any Price $7.50
  2. Quinn, Julia How to Marry a Marquis $6.99
  3. Foley, Gaelen Lord of Fire $6.99
  4. Medeiros, Teresa Yours Until Dawn $7.50
  5. Carlyle, Liz A Woman of Virtue $5.50
  6. Quinn, Julia Splendid $6.99
  7. Alexander, Victoria The Lady In Question $6.99
  8. Laurens, Stephanie A Rogue's Proposal $6.99
  9. Dodd, Christina Scandalous Again $6.99
  10. Carlyle, Liz A Woman Scorned $5.50
I'll let you know if that changes ;-)
